More to come

6S at Bromfords

June 21st & 22nd - Looking forward to a return to Bromfords in Wickford to deliver my study skills to Yrs 8 & 9, an age when the benefits can be even greater where they have more time to embed the techniques not just how to deal with exam stresses in the actual exam period. Aimed at memory skills, regular review, how to study and then how to revise, 6S has received great reviews in previous events and with regular "freshen ups", stays on course to support better results that benefit both students and schools alike. Watch this space!

Emotional Resilience in Brentwood

Had a great day with pupils at Hogarth School in Brentwood this week when I delivered 2 hours of creative learning with Yrs 5&6 followed by. Crash course in Emotional Resilience coaching with Yr 6 who are in transition and soon to move on to Secondary school. Emotional Resilience, or "Sticks and Stones" is about how to deal with change, ability to choose a response to a situation or what someone says and how to be just selfish enough to be the sort of person who has a a goal and a good enough reason for "Going for it" despite all of life's little banana skins. Thanks to my friends at Yellow Brick Road (Jules and Rowan) with whom I have worked previously for sharing some useful insights and for inspiring my presentation with their own experiences of motivating those who perhaps through social circumstance need it most.

Motivation and Creative Approaches to Learning

24th April sees a return of MAD4Sure to The Hogarth Primary in Brentwood to deliver a short Motivation session to Yr 6, followed by some Creative Learning Techniques for Yrs 5 & 6.

Parents and Exam Stress Busting

The evening of 2nd February saw me presenting to nearly 200 parents at Beauchamps School in Wickford, some with their Yr 10 & 11 students in tow. This was a great prelude to the event already arranged with Yr 11 the following Tuesday 7th February and an additional booking 20th March with their Yr 10.

After the school had given a presentation on the rules for students during the exam period, I was asked to show parents how they can support their youngsters during this stressful time.

This event followed an earlier presentation in October 2011 to the parents of students at Bromfords School, also in Wickford where previous events have been warmly received.

The events 7th February and 20th March will require back to back sessions with up to 120 eager students preparing for their forthcoming GCSEs. Motivation, Imagination and Ambition are key words for students in these programmes and a desire to be the best.

Feedback from all events to follow and a huge vote of thanks goes to the Wickford Extended Services Team led by Rachel Voller who made these events possible through their generous subsidies to both schools.

New Booking in Teddington

2nd February 2012 - Fantastic news came from my great friends and colleagues at Yellow Brick Road, Jules Hall and Rowan Johnson who had secured an event at Teddington School where 3 separate programmes were to be delivered to 6 groups of up to 30 Yr 11 students in 50 minute "crash" sessions.

Jules was delivering a Goal Mapping session whilst Rowan and I had to split 6S Study Skills with Rowan focusing on Sleep, Sustenance, State, Sport and Support whilst I focused on Skills.

Feedback was brilliant and the Head Teacher was also full of praise based on student interviews throughout the day. Analysis of the feedback to follow.

New Facebook Page and Google+ profile

Following on from the collapse of Positively MAD in August 2010, many of the former Master Licensed Partners as they were named, pursued independent career paths.

Initially MAD4Sure worked in the background to try and keep the Licensees together as a focus group for sharing ideas and many appear to remain committed to Making A Difference whilst also offering an independent service to schools in their own right.

Modest success has been enjoyed and now it's time to go for growth and a greater presence, particularly in Essex. So, moving forward, Kevin Jefferson (founder of MAD4Sure) will shortly be posting a new Facebook page and an entry on Google+ to raise awareness of the fantastic, stimulating, motivational and powerful courses on offer to students, parents and teachers.

More to follow and links will appear on the right hand column.
